Bet the farm on Rutt Bridges to enter the race officially in early June. A rags-to-riches guy who wants to get our state our of the moral and fiscal crisis we're in.

Bet the farm on Rutt Bridges to exit the race shortly afterward. Even Bill Ritter could beat this guy. At what point do we start to consider him the Pat Buchanan of Colorado politics: always running, never winning.

Agreed. As the Denver Post profile demonstrated, his story is not very interesting and his track record as a candidate is a train wreck.

Rutt seems like a nice enough guy - smart, likeable etc. and i'm sure he has good intentions in his quest for the governors' office. However, all the desire in the world isn't likely to be enough to convince people that he's qualified for that position. There's better ways for him to spend his and other's money imo.

rollie heath was very likable, a great business man, had the best intentions and would have made an excellent governor (he was a classic and successful ceo) he also had money (thought certainly not as much as rutt) but he couldn't win either.

Rollie is fine but he got destroyed. The largest defeat in State History is not the model of a candidate I or my party should follow. Unfortunatly Rutt is about 90% identical to Rollie H. the only difference is Big Horn and Hair. So Rutt only loses by the second largest amount in state history wow makes me want to go work on that campaign.

But how will the dems feel about nominating a pro-life dem?

The differences between Heath and Bridges are many. For one, Heath was running against a popular incumbent not for an open seat. Another is that Rutt has a lot of public policy experience and already has much higher name recognition. Third, Dems in this state know that Rutt has put down a lot more chips to help their causes than Rollie ever did. Finally, Bridges is a more compelling speaker.
